Congratulations to the BT Robotics Team, known in FIRST Robotics as Team #6342, for their exceptional success this past 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition Season.
After a difficult build season with so many snow storm interruptions, the team was able to build an amazing robot that gained a reputation for its great defense.
The team competed at the Ryerson University Competition over the March Break, and then at the McMaster Competition in April. At the McMaster Competition the team was selected as an alliance partner by Celt-X Robotics, team 5406 from Bishop Ryan C.S.S. and Inverse Paradox, team 1325 from Mississauga. Together they competed in the finals. It was a great season for the BT Robotics team giving them their first chance to compete in the finals in just their 3rd year of running the team. Each student received a medal for being a finalist.
The success of the team is due to the hard work of the many students, the teacher advisors, and most of all the support by the team’s mentors and sponsors. Without the mentors and sponsors, the team would be very limited as to what they could produce. A special thank you to Robert Casasanta, and his company LC Bakery Equipment Services Ltd., for all their support through the season. Thank you to mentor Lawrence Lech who was also a great support during the season. The team is so grateful for the generous donations by their sponsors: ArcelorMittal Dofasco Hamilton, Rockwell Automation, FESTO, Salvagnini, Applied Industrial Technologies, CFF Stainless, Tsubaki, Aerloc, Acco Brands, and HWCDSB Robotics.
The team concluded the competition season with a team celebration. They look forward to continuing the robotics journey in the new school year.
