“The McMaster World Congress is the longest running student run conference in Canada. With new current themes annually, the congress aims to enlighten and engage students.”
Julian Lombardi, who is a 2020 graduate of Bishop Tonnos C.S.S was Co-Chair of the 44th McMaster World Congress. The committee included a few other BT Alumni: JP Parente, another 2020 graduate and Christian Barone, a graduate of 2021.
Julian and JP extended an invitation to current students of Bishop Tonnos, giving them the opportunity to attend this amazing 2-day event. BT students who attended had the chance to hear speakers from companies such as Microsoft, IBM, Meta, Transpod, Point ClickCare, Canada Health Infoway and more. The theme of the 2023 conference was Smart Technology and related this topic to Engineering, Business, Health Tech and Sustainability.
The students, from grades 9 to 12, who attended this event had great fun in addition to being inspired for the future. These all feel motivated to learn and grow to face and tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Julian, JP and Christian are previous members of the Bishop Tonnos DECA Chapter and understand the importance of experiential learning. The BT community is so proud of Julian, JP and Christian, and so appreciative of their desire to give back and open doors of opportunity for other students.
